Southern Sydney Synagogue painted with swastika signs in latest anti-Semitic vandalism attack

A synagogue in Sydney’s south has been defaced with at least a dozen swastika signs in an alarming act of anti-Semitic vandalism overnight.

The vile graffiti was spray-painted on the walls of the Southern Sydney Synagogue between about 3.55am and 4.30am Friday morning on Railway Pde, Allawah, police said.

Photos shared on social media show red swastikas and several black ones prominently displayed.

President of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies David Ossip said in a statement the organisation is “outraged” at having to endure yet another anti-Semitic vandalism attack.

“Enough is enough,” he said.

“This is unacceptable and undermines the social harmony and cohesion which Australians have long treasured.

“No Australian should be afraid to attend their place of worship or be fearful walking the streets of their community.

“No Australian should have to wake up every morning filled with apprehension about whether or not there’s been another antisemitic hate crime overnight.”
