“This is a lesson for every girl everywhere,” she said in a now-viral TikTok clip.
When Emma was a student, she i met a boy in a bar; he looked charming and charismatic.
“He was 28 and said he owned his own company and took all his employees on a night out,” she said in the video.
“They raved about him and he bought all their drinks.”
Emma and the man then spent the night together in his apartment.
She woke up the next morning and said everything was going well at first.
“He was so gentle with me and explained that he had to go to the office, but I could take my time, sleep in, get a coffee and go out,” she said.
“I thought this is amazing, it feels like a dream, I can marry this man.”
He left for work and that’s when Emma got the idea to look up his name online.
“I don’t usually like to Google my dates’ names, but for some reason I decided to Google him,” she said.
The first thing that came up was that “he’s been in prison for eight years for killing someone.”
“He shot them with a black dot in their faces through a digital camera – and I had just spent the night with him,” she said.
“My hands are sweating even thinking about it now. I was in a killer’s apartment.
“I ran out the door. I can’t tell you how fast I was out that door.
Emma continued to hear from the man regularly, who called and texted her and left voicemails.
“I ended up having to block his number. His number is saved in my phone as “The Killer,” she said.
“The moral of the story is for the people of Google. Don’t feel bad about it.
“If they’ve done something wrong, it’s usually going to show up immediately in a Google search.”
Emma’s video has more than 690,000 views.
“I’ll never turn anyone down at Google now,” said one.
“Lesson learned,” noted a second, while a third added: “Unhinged is right.”
