California wildfires: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt devastated after LA home lost to inferno
Reality stars Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt have been left devastated after their hillside family home was razed by one of several wildfires raging in Los Angeles.
Properties belonging to Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Vernon Wells, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are also among the more than 1000 buildings destroyed by the deadly blazes, which have forced 100,000 people to flee.
Other celebrities evacuated and spoke out about the fires’ devastation.

The largest fire consumed more than 4800 hectares in Pacific Palisades, a picturesque neighbourhood between the beach towns of Santa Monica and Malibu that is home to many names in film, television and music.
A heartbroken Montag, of The Hills fame, told her followers on social media: “I’m so sad our house is gone.”
She added in a further video: “It really just comes in waves but I just want to go home. I just want to see all my stuff and sit on my couch – just really want to go home. It’s made me so homesick.”
Montag and Pratt reportedly bought the 2,300sq-foot property for $US2.5 million in 2017.
Montag described the “overwhelming” experience of packing for a fire, and how she never expected her home not to survive.
“Obviously the main thing is that we’re safe and got out but it’s like, ‘oh my gosh – you really just panic’,” she said.
“A part of you wants to leave stuff – ‘I’m coming back, of course I’m coming back for all this’.
“I’m just praying for everybody else who’s going through this and all my friends and loved ones.”
Pratt described the loss of his home as one of the “worst feelings of my life”.
“I know people are like ‘you’re rich, you will be fine’. Everything we have worked for was in this house,” he said.
“For the people that are like ‘insurance will cover it’, obviously you don’t know what you’re talking about.
“I know everyone is like ‘at least you have your family’ — yes I know but we are starting at zero now.”
US socialite Paris Hilton said she was “heartbroken beyond words” to see her Malibu home “burn to the ground on live TV” as she watched the news with her family — including her son Phoenix and daughter London whom she shares with husband Carter Reum.
“This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London,” she said in a post on Instagram.
US actor and comedian Crystal, and his wife Janice, confirmed their home of 46 years was destroyed in the blaze.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, and Maria Shriver were among celebrities who joined the more than 100,000 people leaving their homes to escape the out-of-control fires burning in some of Los Angeles’ most desirable areas.
The raging fires have killed at least five people, destroyed hundreds of homes and stretched firefighting resources and water supplies to the limit.
“This firestorm is the big one,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass told a news conference.
